Inspecting New Instruments

Although HEIL PHARMA makes every effort to ensure that the instruments you receive are thoroughly inspected, still we suggest that you inspect each new instrument before using it.
  • Carefully remove the instrument from its outer box packaging.
  • Check the Sterility Symbol on the inner pouch (If Brown – it indicates sterility done)
  • Check the Pouch thoroughly (In case of any tear please re-sterile the instrument before use.)
  • Open the Pouch at the mentioned angles.
  • Examine the instrument under magnification – preferably a microscope – to ensure that it is in good condition.

Instrument for Its First Use

If your inspection of a new instrument confirms that it is in perfect condition, you can proceed to use them.

Handling & Storage

All micro-surgical instruments must be handled with the greatest care when being treated and stored. This is especially true for blades, forceps, Speculums as they are sensitive products.

Below are some guidelines for handling and storing micro-surgical instruments:

Handling

  • Micro Surgical Instruments are highly sensitive and hence proper handling should be carried out once the product is ready for use.
  • Place the products with due care in the trays at the time of cataract procedure.
  • Check the Pouch thoroughly (In case of any tear please re-sterile the instrument before use.)
  • After the surgery we recommend to clean them in order to avoid any infection. We do not recommend re – usage.
Storage

  • Store instruments in a dry area at ambient temperature.
  • Always keep delicate tips protected.

Solutions – Irrigation Solution (BSS) & Eye Wash Sol.



Inspecting Irrigation Solution

Although HEIL PHARMA makes every effort to ensure that the solutions you receive are thoroughly inspected, still we suggest that you inspect each solution bottles before using it.

  • Carefully remove the Bottle (Glass / Plastic) from its outer box packaging.
  • Check there is no leakage or break – out in each bottle.
  • Please read all the instructions for Storage and Content on the Outer box packaging.


Disposables – Drapes, Surgeons Kit, Strips, Spears



Inspecting Disposables

Although HEIL PHARMA makes every effort to ensure that the disposables you receive are thoroughly inspected, still we suggest that you inspect them before using it.

  • Carefully remove the products from its outer box packaging. (Strips & Spears)
  • Check the Sterility Symbol on the inner pouch (If Brown – it indicates sterility done).
  • Check the Pouch thoroughly (In case of any tear please do not use them).
  • Open the Pouch at the mentioned angles.
  • For Drapes check the instructions mentioned on the pack.
  • Strips and Spears are been sterile with different methods, hence please ask us for any clarity.
